In-Person Learning Suspended Until At Least March 8, 2021

Dear Families:

I hope this email finds you safe and healthy.

As you may remember, in January we updated you that all Integration Charter Schools (“ICS”) will be closed for in-person learning until at least February 22, 2021.

Due to the consistent number of positive COVID-19 cases on Staten Island, we have made the difficult decision to prolong our closure for in-person learning until at least March 8, 2021, and we will re-evaluate our plans in the days prior.

Currently, the tentative plan is to resume our original option of 1-day per week in person learning for each ICS division beginning on Monday, March 8th.

We know that there has been a great deal of time since in-person learning sessions were taking place.  Please be advised that the instructional staff has begun strategizing to create robust programs that will be unique to each school to help students close the gap on any learning loss experienced. We plan on rolling out these programs in late spring, and  will continue through the summer and early fall.

We are here to support you and your children. Your child’s Principal will be in contact with more school-specific information.

To ensure you have the most up-to-date information, please check your school’s website regularly and reach out to your child’s school with any questions.

Sincerely,

Ken
